New Video Posted, Radio Requests
Posted On Thursday, July 28, 2005 by Jason
The video for our first single "Alone Inside" is now available to view on our media page. Its been a long drawn out road to finally get a video we can be proud of, and we hope you all enjoy it. Click here to watch it now.

Our single has gone out to radio this past few weeks, and we need your help to get it played. If we can get enough requests for it at certain key stations, others will begin playing it all over the country. Below is a list of Florida stations that we are aggressively pushing to get is played. Call (or email) and request "Alone Inside" to any one of these stations as many times as humanly possible. The more requests, the more they will play it.

Here are the stations:

Radio, Video, Press, New Bass Player
Posted On Tuesday, July 12, 2005 by Jason
Lots of stuff is happening in the SOL camp this month! To start, SOL and bassist Jay Capps have decided to part ways. We wish him the best of luck with his future endeavors. On that note, we also would like to introduce you to our new bassist, Chris Mullen. Chris comes to us from our tampa friends in Lo, and previously from Primer 55 and Sev. Chris is a solid musician and a good friend who is a welcomed addition to the SOL family. Chris was able to step right in at the last minute and learn 9 songs in a week so we did not miss any of our shows. We will have some pictures with him up shortly.

Our video for our single "Alone Inside" is pretty much done. We will have it up on the site for you to view in the next day or so. It came out pretty damn good and we hope you all like it. Lets hope we can get it on MTV2 for everyone to see.

SOL is also starting to pop up on many different sites around the net as the album release date (August 9) draws near. Some of the sites include windowsmedia.com's music page, musicremedy.com, and mp3collegeradionetwork.com to name a few. Stop by and check it out.

"What We Reflect" is starting to get alot of play on college radio all over the east coast as far west as Texas. Call your local college radio station to request SOL. And starting next week (Mid-July) our single "Alone Inside" will be available on commercial radio stations all over the country. Be sure and call in an request it as often as you can. We need all the support we can get to get SOL into regular rotation.

We have tons more shows coming up in Late July/August around the state, especially in the tampa/orlando area, and hopefully some touring. Check the events page for shows near you. We look forward to seeing you all come out and and enjoy a show, and have a few beers afterwards. Also, many thanks to those of you who braved hurricane dennis to see us at the boiler room in tampa last weekend. You guys kick ass. Till next time...

Album Update and Video Shoot
Posted On Tuesday, May 31, 2005 by Jason
First, we would like to thank everyone that came to our CD release party this past friday and had a good time. It was a fun night, and was fulfilling to finally be back on stage at home. We had not been back at the culture room for nearly a year.

Since we have now switched gears to release the album through Rock Ridge music, our new OFFICIAL release date for the record is August 9th. From now until then we will be busting our ass to promote the record all over the country in all forms of media. Keep your eyes peeled in your favorite magazines (especially Revolver Magazine's June Edition), and on college and commercial radio stations.

In a couple of weeks we will be heading to Orlando to shoot our video for "Alone Inside", which is shaping up to be our single. We dont have more details about the shoot yet, but its all coming together over the next week or so. As soon as we have some of it to show, we will post a piece of it here for you all to watch.

Later on in July we will be back out playing again. Keep checking the site for updates, we will post them as we book em. Till next time.

CD Release Party & A New Record Deal
Posted On Sunday, May 15, 2005 by Jason
Things are starting to look up for SOL this year. We are finally starting to get some momentum going behind our new album and the CD release party is coming together nicely. The CD party will be at The Culture Room on Friday, May 27th with many of our longtime friends in Eversinceve, SimpleKill and Headdrive. Be sure and get there early to catch them all. Please visit our Events page for more info about the show.

A New Record Deal
On another note, our manager has been quite busy these days and helped us land a new record deal with Rock Ridge Music. This is no run of the mill indie label, but a label with a focus and the means to take us to the next level. RockRidge was started by Tom Derr (Ex VP of Marketing Artist Development at Universal Records) and Chris Henderson (Guitarist for Three Doors Down) whose disinfranchisement with the music industry pushed them to start a label that looks to reinvent the music industry through their creative approach to artist development. We are proud to now be a part of thier roster.

We are still recruiting for our street team, so if you are interested please visit our Street Teams Page and sign up.

Suprise show this Friday
Posted On Monday, May 2, 2005 by Jason
If you haven't checked our events page in a while, you may not have noticed that we are playing a last minute show this Friday night with our long time friends in Eversinceve at The Factory in Fort Lauderdale. This will mark our first show back since October of last year, a little over 7 months! We will have our merch on sale, including our new CD. You should come pick one up if you haven't already. Our next show after this is our CD Release Party at the end of this month at The Culture Room in Fort Lauderdale. We more than likely will be posting more show dates shortly. We will keep you all posted.

On a different note, SOL has signed a management agreement with Doug Wimmer of Concept Artist Management to take over our management duties. SOL and Doug have been working together for a long time now and are proud to finally make it official. Other good things are afoot which we cannot mention now, but will later on. Until next time...

- S.O.L.

P.S. - We are still looking for street team members in the south florida area. If you are interested in working with us, please visit our street teams page and drop us a line.

What We Reflect
Posted On Sunday, January 2, 2005 by Jason
Sorry we haven't posted in a while, but its time for an update. The new album "What We Reflect" is almost ready and we are shooting for release the end of this month.

Alot has gone on in the past few months that have really thrown us for a loop that I thought we would share with you. If you recall we had signed a record deal with Musicom Media, but that company went out of business and stuck us with a large recording bill. The fall through of our deal left the band in a very tough state, but we have rebounded and signed a new deal with AudioStreet Records. This is a new company run by www.audiostreet.net, and they have taken over the responsibility of releasing our album.

You can now preview the opening track of our new album. The song is title Alone Inside and you can listen to a 30 second clip by clicking here.

So, everything is back on track and we are working hard to finish everthing and get it on store shelves before februrary. We are putting the final touches on the album this week and should have a sample song up very shortly. Thanks for sticking by us through thick and thin and lets make 2005 a kick ass year!

Merry Xmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year!

The Fall of a Legend
Posted On Thursday, December 9, 2004 by Jason
Dimebag Darrell, guitarist for Damageplan and Pantera, was killed during a shooting spree at a Columbus, Ohio, nightclub Wednesday night. He was 38.

Darrell, real name Darrell Abbott, was among the five dead in the incident, including the as-yet-unnamed shooter and two fans, Nathan Bray and Erin Halk, according to Columbus Police public information officer Sherry Mercurio.

Damageplan had just begun their first song in front of several hundred at Alrosa Villa when the gunman jumped onstage, made a comment about Pantera's breakup, and began firing at close range into Darrell's body, shooting him several times before opening fire on the crowd.

This is truly a horrible day in music history that will not be forgotten. All of us here in the SOL family would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family and friend of this great metal legend. It was an honor and a pleasure to share the same stage with him. May he rest in peace.

SOL rips up Orlando
Posted On Tuesday, October 12, 2004 by Jason
What a weekend it was! The Musicom festival in Orlando was a night not soon to be forgotten. SOL had the honor of sharing the stage with some legends in the music world, and got to party with them all! The band took the stage just before 5pm on Saturday to kick off the festivities on the main stage. It was a bit toasty playing in the middle of the day, but well worth it. The band pounded out 9 songs, spanning 3 albums of material, and topping off the set with the new song "Alone Inside".

The rest of the night was just incredible with drowning pool heating things up and getting the evening crowd broken in. Damage Plan then took the stage and the place went nuts! Vinnie and Dimebag being legends of metal really gave us a show to remember, and brought us all on stage for their rendition of "walk" by their former band. Then they finished out their set with a couple more pantera songs which everyone going nuts. Static-X was just amazing. I personally had never seen them live, but what a show these guys put on.

All in all it was a great night, and every one of the bands were cool as shit, and it was an honor to toss a few back with them. We wish you all could have been there to see it, but then again it wont be the last. Till next time...

SOL gets signed, Album in the making & Festivals!!!
Posted On Tuesday, August 10, 2004 by Jason
You read it right. After years of pouring our hearts, souls and sweat into Scars of Life, we have finally accomplished our main goal and signed a management and record deal with MUSICOM Media. After several weeks of negotiations we inked our deal this past weekend with one of the most promising up and coming artist management and record labels in the music industry.

We have begun working on putting together our debut album that will be released worldwide in November/December. The album is going to be titled "What We Reflect", and will have 13 songs spanning material from our last 3 independently released CDs, as well as a brand new track and a live version of "Bullet with your Name". Here is a complete track listing of the album (in no specific order): Watch Me Drown, Mute, Bullet With Your Name, Water in my Hands, Pool of Fears, Lost Years, Silent Words, Descending, Away from Me, Placebo, Lemon, Alone Inside (new song), and Bullet with your Name (live version). The 3 songs from the "Mute" CD have been completely re-recorded this past weekend, and all other songs will be completely remixed and mastered over the next couple of weeks. The album is taking us a bit longer then we planned do to the fact that we kept getting hurricanes down here causing power outages at our studio, and we were not happy with the guitar sound so we are going to be recording all the guitar tracks over with a better sound then before.

We currently have a large outdoor festival we will be playing on Oct. 2 in Orlando, FL at the Lee Vista Center. This show will include Drowning Pool, Static-X and Damage Plan as well as other FL bands, comedians, magicians and my favorite, the Hawaiian Tropic Models, its like Christmas in October so come check it out. More info on the show is available at the events page or for tickets go to MUSICOM MEDIA.

Keep Checking back for studio updates and thank you for all your support!!

SOL welcomes aboard new bass player
Posted On Monday, July 19, 2004 by Jason
Scars of life would like to welcome their newest member, Jay Capps. After just a couple jam sessions over a few weekends, Jay landed the job as the new bass player to fill the position vacated by Mike Kennedy in June. Jay comes to us from the Tampa area band Difficult through a mutual friend from that area. The band has been rehearsing relentlessly over the last few weeks with Jay, and he has already eased into the spot and made himself at home in the SOL family. Jay has already learned most of the SOL catalog of songs and has contributed to some new material as well.

On another note, we have found a few more copies of the "2002 Demo" cd, so they are once again back on sale on the merchandise page. Get your copy while they are available!

And, to top things off, some big things are in store for the next two months for Scars of Life that we are dying to tell everyone about. We will release more information shortly when all of the details are worked out and all the legal stuff is out of the way. Keep your eyes peeled for a whole lot more SOL!

New album in the making!
Posted On Thursday, June 3, 2004 by Mike
What's up everyone? Just wanted to thank those who attended our last few shows...we appreciate the support!

We're going to be taking some much needed time off this summer to write our first full-length release. We hope to hit the studio in early fall with a possible end-of-year release. As for the live cd/dvd, that is still being put together as well. Some of you have already heard some new songs like "More Like You" and "Snap". We hope you like them. We are sure you'll love the new music SOL is coming up with.

We'll see you all soon.

SOL's last show for a LONG ASS TIME this Saturday...
Posted On Thursday, May 27, 2004 by Mike
What's up everyone? Just wanted to remind all of you wonderful Floridians that we will be playing this Saturday, May 29 at the Factory in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Our good buddies in Endo invited us to play...so we figured we would. The show information is listed on our Events page. So be sure to go there and check out all the information so you don't miss this great show! This show will also be our final show for a very long time. Why you ask? Why not! No, seriously, we're going to be working on new material. The demand for a full length cd from SOL has been so overwhelming, we decided to not disappoint...and try to get a full length cd out by the end of the year. So if you wanted to see SOL at all this summer, this Saturday will be your final chance.

Group Therapy II is here! Live cd/dvd update!
Posted On Friday, May 14, 2004 by Mike
What's up everyone? Sorry for the lack of updates...but we've been busy lately doing a whole bunch of shit. First...let's talk about the second annual Group Therapy Session. The show started by SOL is here again...this year, it's bigger and better than ever! Here's the info: Saturday May 15, 2004 at Kelsey Club in Lake Park, FL. The bands are Scars Of Life, Endo, Eversinceve, Deadstar Assembly, After The Calm, Protagonist, On WatershipDown, SAQ, SkunkApe, Get The Ammo, Greyson Manor, and Allele. The show starts at 2:00pm and runs all day and night. It's only $10 all ages for the whole day. Re-entry is free until 8:00pm. The show is being sponsored by Audiostreet.net and Twizted City (formerly Mosh Pitt Hollywood). We have tons of prizes to be given away, including gift certificates from Best Buy, Sam Ash, and Twizted City, as well as some other cool Sam Ash prizes. I could go on all day, but I think I will just end it here and tell you to come out...so...COME OUT!!

We have been in the studio this past week putting the final mixing and mastering touches on our live cd. Let me be the first to say, it sounds great and I think you will all love it. When the mixing is done, we will send the audio on over to Darkhak Productions and they will go ahead and put the finishing touches on the live portion of the dvd. Once that is done, we will send them over some fun behind the scenes video of SOL, and then get the rest of the dvd put together. I think you guys can expect a late summer/early fall release. Also, the cd will include a live version of the previously unreleased song, More Like You. I am getting excited about it.

As of right now, the re-release of Mute has been put on an indefinite halt. So just incase it never gets to see the light of day, make sure you hold on to your copies of Mute, they may become collector's items someday!

Anyways...I think that is all for now. Talk to you all soon!

Some of the bands confirmed so far are Scars Of Life, Endo, Eversinceve, Deadstar Assembly, After The Calm, On WatershipDown, SAQ, Skunk Ape, Get The Ammo, and Allele. This show should be amazing...so we hope to see you all out there.

New shows announced!
Posted On Monday, March 15, 2004 by Mike
What's up guys? Sorry for the lack of updates...but we have had a lack of shit to talk to you about. We are currently writing some new material. We are playing a few shows here and there, but that's about it. Pretty boring, eh? We'd like to thank all of you for still coming by and checking out the site from time to time. It helps SOL remain alive during our uneventful downtime.

We'll be playing at the Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on Friday, March 19. We havent played in Lauderdale in 3 months, so this should be a great welcome back show for us. We'll be playing a brand new song titled "Snap", which we've only played one other time. So be sure to come out, hang out, and have a good time.

We also have Friday, March 26 lined up with our buddies in Nonpoint. This will be at the Kelsey Club in Lake Park, FL. We are hitting the stage first (early...like..8:00pm or some shit)...so be sure to get your asses out early or else you'll miss all the fun!

Also...we are putting together another Group Therapy Session festival in May, with the help of Astera Promotions and Eversinceve. This will be a 12 band fest taking place at the Kelsey Club in Lake Park, FL. When we get all the information, we'll be sure to hook you guys up...cause the GTS shows are always a blast!

As always, all the information for our shows are available in the Events section!

See ya at the shows!

Scars Of Life returns to the stage...
Posted On Friday, February 6, 2004 by Mike
What's up people? After taking some time off, we will be returning to the stage on February 21, 2004. This will be our return to Palm Beach, FL at the Kelsey Club. We will be joined by One: and Eversinceve. This should be a great show to get SOL back into the game. If you're good, we might play a new song we call Snap (yea, it's pretty fucking heavy!!).

As I stated in the past, we are all out of our Mute cd, and are now coming close to the demise of the 2002 Demo. But have no fear. What was an idea in the past is now going to become a reality. We will be re-releasing the Mute cd, but this will be the Mute limited edition version. It will include the entire Mute cd, as well as the 2002 Demo, and bonus tracks "Purity" and "Broken Bond". Who knows if we'll add some more shit on there as well. Now we won't be making this until the 2002 Demo is gone, so be sure to tell everyone you know to pick that up soon. Also, the new Mute cd will have the same artwork cover, but a new insert that will feature all kinds of pictures and things from the SOL archives. This will be something no SOL fan should be without. I'll update more as soon as we get more details.

Also, huge congrats goes out to our brother Eddie (formerly of Darwin's Waiting Room) for becoming the new guitarist for Cold. Eddie's a great guitarist and should kick some serious ass in Cold.

See you guys on the 21st!

Hard Rock Live...rocked!
Posted On Tuesday, January 20, 2004 by Mike
What can I say about the Hard Rock Live show last week? Well...it kicked ass! The crowd was amazing! Everyone seemed to dig the SOL sound, and we made a lot of new friends up there! We'd like to thank Indorphine for bringing us up! We had a great time up there! Unfortunately, our camera crew got stuck in traffic, so no video from this show will be included on the dvd. But we have all kinds of footage to use, and we promise you won't be disappointed.

Pictures from the Hard Rock Live show are up now. Head on over to the Gallery section to check them out!

As for what's going on with SOL right now...well...we're taking a little break from South Florida. We'll be back playing out sometime in March.

Until then, be good!

SOL hits Hard Rock Live Orlando THIS FRIDAY!!
Posted On Wednesday, January 14, 2004 by Mike
We're very excited to be playing at the World Famous Hard Rock Live in Orlando, FL on Friday. We're excited about this show for many reasons. First, we're excited because we had many requests for tickets to the show, which means the SOL crew will be in full effect! Second, we're excited because this venue rocks! We have never played there, but as you can see from the picture above, it's not your standard club on the corner of a crack town! It is located in on Universal Studios Florida grounds. And the third reason we are very excited, is because we will be filming and recording this show for inclusion on our upcoming live cd/dvd set. The Culture Room filming came out great, but we did have some audio problems with the recording equiptment going out a few times, so we had to scrap half of the album. And what better place to do more filming than the Hard Rock? For all the information on the show, please check out our Events section!

Hope to see you all there!

Scars Of Life gets ready to destroy Orlando's Hard Rock Live!
Posted On Monday, December 29, 2003 by Mike
First off, we'd like to say we hope everyone had a fun and safe holiday this year. I know we did! (as you can see above).

Well, the new year is almost upon us, and we are sure this is going to be a great year for SOL. And what a better way to kick it off, than with a huge show at the legendary Hard Rock Live in Orlando, FL. This venue houses most of the MTV Hard Rock Live series, and it is an amazing place to play, probably the best in all of Florida. The show is on Friday, January 16, 2004. Our boys in Indorphine will be tearing it up with us, along with Orlando's own Gargamel and Loss For Words. The show is an 18+ show, and is only $3 with a Scars Of Life ticket. If you are of legal drinking age (that's 21+ for those still hung over from the holidays), the show is absolutely FREE with a Scars Of Life ticket. How do you get an SOL ticket you ask? Email hardrocklive@scarsoflife.com and let us know how many you want, and we'll mail them directly to your house...see how easy that is?

Also, don't forget...ALL shirts and hats are still on sale at the SOL merchandise store. The new "Bullet With Your Name" shirt is NOW available!!. Be sure to check out our Merchandise section to get these items at this new low price!!

Also, for info on all of our upcoming shows, including our "ring in the new year bash" at the Kelsey Club in Lake Park, FL on Jan 10, head over to our Events section!

Hope you have a safe New Years!

SOL to record live cd/dvd set!
Posted On Wednesday, December 10, 2003 by Mike
** HOLIDAY MERCH SALE!! ALL SCARS OF LIFE APPAREL IS ON SALE! Check out the official Scars Of Life Merch Store today to save on merch. Once these items are gone, they're gone! **

In celebration of Scars Of Life going stronger than ever now, we want to do something special. We are going to be releasing a live cd/dvd set in the first half of the new year. We think that this will show everyone the best parts of SOL: performing live, and hanging out with all the kids at shows. We are going to be recording our upcoming show on December 19, 2003 @ the Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. We are going to be using the talents of Darkhak Productions to professionally film this show. It is an amazing company who did wonders with bands like Deadstar Assembly and Endo. We are also going to be recording the audio professionally. We are still working on a setlist, but I can tell you all you will not be disappointed. We will be playing some of the usuals (Water In My Hands, Pool Of Fears), some of the old (Mute, Watch Me Drown), some of the new (Descending, Placebo), and some off the OMG You're Playing That?! (Purity). We're also not going into this show alone. We're bringing our friends in Eversinceve, Lo, Thread Of Hope, and Soma along to help us celebrate this show.

Also, we want ALL of you to be a part of it as well. Get to the show early, and get on camera to ask Scars Of Life questions. We will then pick select people (depending on the questions asked) to have your questions asked and answered on our dvd. Here To Stay?
Posted On Wednesday, November 26, 2003 by Mike
Well...we have some good news in the land of SOL. After this past week, a lot of thinking and talking has been going on within the band. After quitting SOL to pursue a non-musical direction, Kyle has decided he can't be without the band, the fans, and all his new friends he has made along the way. SOL is his home, and he is here to stay. We thank you all for the support and kind words you gave us over the past week. We are very happy Kyle is back with SOL, and we are sure you are to. 2004 will bring a bigger, better Scars Of Life. Read Kyle's official post by Clicking Here

The December 19th Farewell show is still happening, but obviously, it's not a farewell show. But this show will be special. We're going to be recording this show for a future live cd/dvd set we plan on releasing. We talked about this a lot, and thought you guys would really dig something like that, especially those who have not seen us yet, and have been asking for some live SOL. The cd will be of the entire show, plus a brand new studio track titled "More Like You" (which we haven't recorded yet, but plan to). The dvd portion of the set will feature a history and behind the scene look at Scars Of Life, as well as interviews, live clips, and our hopeful video we plan to make for "More Like You". We think this collection will show what SOL is all about...live shows, music, and you guys who come out and support us.

We have some new shows up on the Events page. Check them out and we hope to see you all there, especially the 19th show, so you can be a part of SOL's history.

So in closing, we all say "Welcome Back Kyle", and Scars Of Life is here for the long run!!

Thanks again for all your support,

- Scars Of Life

...a sad announcement from SOL...
Posted On Tuesday, November 18, 2003 by Mike
There comes a time in the life of a band where changes are natural to occur. It is hard and very sad for me on behalf of the band to write this. On November 18, 2003, Scars Of Life vocalist Kyle Shapiro has made a very hard decision in his life. He has announced his departure from the band. There are no hard feelings in the split. Kyle is leaving the band due to personal things going on in his life. He has decided it is time for him to pursue other ventures. We, of course, as his long-time brothers, accept and understand his reasons for leaving. Though it is a hard thing to do, Scars Of Life will be moving forward with a new vocalist. This person will not be a replacement for Kyle, but more of a new addition in the second chapter in the SOL history book. We will be scheduling a farewell show for Kyle. Kyle loves all of our fans and friends that have given us their love and support over the years. Kyle has been a part of this group for a long time, since the beginning of the Confined days, and has been a good friend of a few of us since way before then as well. He will be greatly missed by all. We wish him all the luck in the world, and hope big things come his way in the future. He will be missed, not only as just one of the best vocalists in the business, but as a brother to Anthony, Jason, Joe, and I, and a friend to everyone else who has met him through this band.

Thank you all for your support,

Your friends,

- Mike, Anthony, Joe, Jason, and Kyle: Scars Of Life

Kyle has posted his offical comments on the forum, Click Here to read and reply.

SOL leave their mark in Orlando and Jacksonville!
Posted On Tuesday, October 7, 2003 by Mike
We're back from our little "mini-tour" through Florida. What a great time it was. We'd like to thank our boys in Indorphine for hooking us up in Orlando. We ended up hitting the stage around 1am or so, so we gotta thank all the people who stuck around to check us out. We plowed through an 9 song set, including Watch Me Drown as an encore, which the fans so lovingly requested...how could we say no? We'll be back up in Orlando soon and hope to see all of you again.

As for Jacksonville...wow...what a great time. The crowd was amazing, the venue was amazing, the area was amazing ...hell ...everything about Jacksonville kicked ass. Thank you all for making us feel welcome in your town. You definately made us want to come back soon. Thanks to the bands that played, who were also all really cool: Rosehill and Misery Head. Also, big thanks to our boys in Allele for bringing our asses up to Jax. You'll be seeing them down in South Florida soon, and that's good...cause they rock. We'll have pics from this past weekend up soon.

Our next show is at the Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale on Friday, October 31st, for the Halloween Night Creeper's Ball. We'll be tearing it up with Deadstar Assembly, Simplekill, Human Factors Lab, Retardobot, and Incode. Be sure to check it out, and be sure to dress in your best costumes.

We have a couple awesome shows this weekend. We hope to see a whole bunch of new faces. On Friday, October 3, we'll be tearing it up in Orlando, FL at Wills Pub. We'll be kicking some ass with our brothers in Indorphine, as well as O.F. Beatdown and Breeding Seed. Then, on Saturday, October 4, we'll be going further north for the first time to Jacksonville, FL. We'll be at Freebird Cafe' with Allele and Deroot. Once again, we'd like to thank you all for checking out our songs on the net. We have recently exceeded 200,000 downloads on our Official Scars Of Life MP3.com page. This all happened in less than a years time of having our songs on MP3.com. That is amazing to us and we can't begin to thank you enough. On a related note, the first track off the"Another Tomorrow" cd, "Descending", has been a # 1 song on MP3.com's Alternative Metal section for sometime now. So once again, on behalf of all the guys in SOL, we Thank You all!

See you on the road...

SOL Destroys South Florida Last Weekend...
Posted On Tuesday, September 23, 2003 by Mike
What's up people? What a weekend. We'd like to thank everyone for coming out to our double dose of shows this weekend. First off, if you came to the Culture Room show, and noticed Nonpoint didn't play, you are right. Good job! They did not play. Elias (singer, Nonpoint) had strained his vocal chords at a show the night before, and was unable to perform, or speak for that matter. We all wish Elias a quick recovery. The show still went on, and was pretty fun. Thanks to the other bands for keeping the night alive: Dr. Gonzo's Bazooka Circus, Neo-Con, and our brothers in Eversinceve, who joined us last minute and put on an insanely heavy set. Rumor has it, a make-up date for this show has been scheduled for Saturday, November 15 w/ Scars Of Life and Nonpoint. If that changes, we'll let you know.

Continuing on, we'd like to thank all who came out to the Kelsey Club in Lake Park on Saturday. This was personally one of my favorite shows. The crowd was amazing, and all the bands rocked hard. Thanks to Eversinceve, Simplekill, Deadstar Assembly, Headcase, and our brothers is Lo, who drove all the way from St. Pete, and got a really warm welcome into our town from you people. Thank you for showing them what South Florida can do!! Picture's from both shows, as well as pictures from our CD Release Party, will be up on the site later today. Check out our Gallery section for all the new and old SOL pics.

We'll be heading out of town in October. We'll be at Wills Pub in Orlando, FL on October 3 and Freebird Cafe in Jacksonville, FL on October 4. We hope to see a lot of our SOL people there! For all the info on those shows, visit the Events page.

Welcome to the NEW Scarsoflife.com!!
Posted On Wednesday, September 10, 2003 by Mike
Notice anything different? Yep...welcome to the new home of SOL!! Joe and Rodman did an AMAZING job on our new website. It is not 100% completed yet, and we're still working out all the bugs, but most of the site is up and running. If you notice any problems, please email them to WEBMASTER@SCARSOFLIFE.COM.

The coolest feature on the new site, in my opinion, is our new Forum. It's an awesome message board. You don't have to resign up either. All of your info is still logged onto the site. You can now update your profile to add pictures, etc. You can also add pictures in your posts. It's a real board...how cool?...heh.

Other cool new features are Fan Reviews (a place to make your own review of SOL cds, shows, etc), new Gallery (easier to view, more pictures are added), and tons more. Go through the site, peak around, get a feel for it. We hope you like it!

Also, the "Water In My Hands" video, shot last February, will be up on the site very soon. As well as live footage of "Descending" from our cd release party. Also, wallpapers, buddy icons, etc. will be added soon as well.

We'd like to thank everyone who came out last week to the cd release party. It was an awesome night, and a lot of fun. Thanks to all of you for making it a memorable, packed show! Thanks to the sick bands that tore it up with us: Inner Element, Eversinceve, Indorphine, Deadstar Assembly, and Stillkept. We hope you all like the new cd.

New show just added. Friday, September 19, 2003 at the Culture Room w/ Nonpoint! This show is going to rock. We hope to see you all there.

Thanks, and enjoy the new home of SOL!!

Demoing Material, St. Pete, Recording, #1 songs...
Posted On Friday, June 13, 2003 by Mike
Hey guys,

Just wanted to give you an update on what we have been up to lately. This weekend, we start demoing all of our new songs. When that is completed, we will then decide which songs we are going to do in the studio. Just incase you forgot or have no clue what I am talking about, I will remind you. We will be hitting the studio on July 18 to record another demo. We are once again using Studio 13 and Jeremy Staska (Poison The Well, New Found Glory, Nonpoint, Eversinceve) to record the cd. We will have some new songs up in September! We are currently working on ideas for a special cd for you guys, including the 4 new songs, as well as some possible remixes, live songs, and demo versions of previously released songs. We'll keep you updated on all that when we get updated ourselves.

Our only scheduled show this summer is taking place in lovely St. Petersburg, FL. We're playing the Oddfest event, which also features Lo. (cd release party), School For Heroes, Unravel, Flawed By Design (featuring former members of Attica), and Paradigm. This show should be huge, and we hope to see a lot of old and new faces there! For more information, checkout our Events page.

Here's a little MP3.com update. After 7 months, and 159 non-consecutive days at #1 on the Nu-Metal charts, we have moved "Pool Of Fears" to the Alternative Metal charts. But have no fear, it hit #1 there a few days ago :) We'd like to thank everyone that downloads songs from MP3.com and helps us chart high, it's awesome and much appreciated. Elsewhere on the charts, "Watch Me Drown", which was one of the first songs by SOL on mp3.com, has after 2 years, hit #1 on the Nu-Metal charts. Also, "Water In My Hands" has worked it's way to #1 on the Nu-Metal charts as well. So that's 3 #1 songs for us, and once again, we have all of you to thank!! We appreciate you all spreading the word about us, and we won't forget it either! Check out our mp3.com page by CLICKING HERE.

Our next, and final appearance in the South Florida area (for awhile) will be Saturday, May 24 @ The Kelsey Club in Lake Park, FL. We are taking a much needed break from the South Florida local scene, and will concentrate on writing new songs, and work on some other shit we've been meaning to do.

Orlando was awesome, bigger shows ahead!
Posted On Tuesday, April 15, 2003 by Mike
Not much news this week. We'd like to thank everyone that came out and supported us in Orlando last week. The trip was fun. The idea behind the Axis festival was very cool, but would have been better if it was all ages shows, as opposed to the 21+ it was. But all in all, it was a fun time.

We have some big show announcements coming up within the next week, so stay tuned to the site for that information.

Also, don't forget next weekend we'll be sitting ringside for the UFC 42 Sudden Impact pay-per view, which will be airing on Friday, April 25, 2003. Then the following day, we play at the Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale for the big Deadstar Assembly DVD Release Party, w/ Deadstar Assembly, Retard-o-bot, Inner Element, and Incode. More information on both of these events will be given next week.

Studio, Radio, Video
Posted On Tuesday, February 4, 2003 by Mike
Well, we are done recording our tracks in the studio. What an experience. The studio was awesome. It was cool to see Missy Elliott, Enrique Iglesias, and Iggy Pop recording at Criteria at the same time as us. Criteria Studios has so much history. It was amazing too see all the acts that have recorded there: Metallica, Aerosmith, DMX, Bee Gees, Black Sabbath, Lenny Kravitz, Shakira, The Eagles, Michael Jackson, and like a million more! Anyways, the songs came out great. They are currently being mixed as we speak. We can't wait for you guys to check out Dying Here and the new and improved Water In My Hands. I think this is the best work to come from SOL yet. We have to thank Steve, Pat, and the other Criteria staff, and thanks to Michael Jackson (no, not THAT Michael Jackson) for all their help. Also, thanks to Corey and Mike for filming the entire weekend for the upcoming UFC dvd. And a special BIG thanks goes to Mike Sak (Goo Goo Dolls, Insane Clown Posse) who not only produced the songs with us, but he is the reason we are working with the UFC in the first place...and we appreciate everything he is doing for us!! The 2 songs will debut on the UFC 41 Onslaught pay-per view special on February 28, 2003.

At the February 15th show, The Group Therapy Session, the UFC is sending a film crew (Corey and Mike, who filmed us this past weekend) to film our entire set for footage to be used in the Water In My Hands music video. The video will feature a mix of SOL live footage, studio footage, and UFC fights. So if you want to be in the video, and on the UFC dvd, make sure you go fucking NUTS when we play on the 15th. The more nuts you go, the better chances you have to be in the video.

Guess who's back? Not Slim Shady, but CHACHI! Our friend Chachi is back in the Palm Beach/Broward FL area with his Native Noise, 3-hour local radio show! The show debuts THIS SUNDAY from 7-10 pm on Real Radio 94.3 (Stuart to Broward)/101.7 FM (Stuart to Melbourbe). Be sure to check it out. Chachi is one of the biggest supporters of local music, and has always helped us out...so make sure you listen to his show!

That's it for now, we'll see you all on the 15th!

The songs will also be used for the upcoming UFC soundtrack. Some more big news is coming on the UFC/SOL relationship, so stay tuned.

Scars Rocks UFC, and Ft. Lauderdale
Posted On Monday, November 25, 2002 by Mike
Hey everyone!

For all of you who saw the UFC last Friday, what a trip that shit was!! First, they took us by surpirse, and used Water In My Hands as the entrance theme for the legendary UFC/WCW fighter, Tank Abbott!!. That was an unexpected surprise..for we had no idea that was going to be his new entrance theme song. Then, the part we knew about came up, and it was cooler then we could have imagined. They played the biography segment of UFC Champion Tito Ortiz. The theme for it was Pool Of Fears. They made it fit perfectly with the biography. We were very proud of this. They even hooked us up MTV-style by putting our band name and song name on the bottom left hand corner of the screen. We'd like to thank all of our new friends at the UFC for everything. What's next for SOL on UFC? The soundtrack! Expect to hear a BRAND NEW, unreleased song on the upcoming UFC soundtrack..more info to come on that soon!

Don't forget, we have a HUGE show THIS WEDNESDAY, November 27th show in Ft. Lauderdale, FL at the Culture Room w/ Endo, Crossbreed, Deadstar Assembly and Trash. Please print one of our tickets off of the website for a discounted admission of $10, ALL AGES!! DISCOUNT TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE BY CLICKING HERE!Remember to highlight SCARS OF LIFE on the flyer! We go on first, so get your asses there early!!

Check out a couple of new reviews for the 2002 Demo cd. First one comes from Decoy-Online and the second one comes from Emapthy Promotion. Check them out, and visit their full websites on our Links page.

That's all the news for now, until next time..Cya!

SOL Sign Licensing Deal with UFC!!!
Posted On Tuesday, November 12, 2002 by Jason
What's up everyone?

Yes..you read the header correctly. We have signed a 1 year licensing deal with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). What does this mean? What it means is you will hear SOL tunes all over UFC events. We licensed 3 songs to them (Water In My Hands, Pool Of Fears, Lost Years). These songs will be used during various parts of UFC pay per views, home videos, soundtracks, and all kinds of other cool things. As of right now, the tentative debut of SOL on UFC will be Friday, November 22 at the UFC 40 Vendetta event on Pay Per View. We are not positive exactly where yet, but expect to hear Pool Of Fears somewhere in the main event between Tito Ortiz and Ken Shamrock! When we learn more info on where and when you can hear SOL on UFC, we will let you know.

We'd like to thank all of you who download SOL music on our MP3.COM site. You have shot our songs up the charts. Right now, Pool Of Fears has been Number 1 on the Nu-Metal download AND stream charts for over a week straight!! So thank you very much, and keep on downloading.

Be sure to checkout our brothers in EverSINcevE THIS FRIDAY, November 15, at The Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Speaking of the good 'ol CR, be sure to check US out as well at the Culture Room on November 27 w/ Endo, Crossbreed, Deadstar Assembly, and Trash. Scars Of Life rocks St. Pete...
Posted On Wednesday, August 21, 2002 by Mike
Sup peeps!

Well, this past weekend, we made our first trip up to the west coast of Florida. We played at the State Theater in St. Petersburg. What an awesome venue. We played with some kickass bands in Lo., Megalablatta, and Unravel! These bands kicked ass. The fans in St. Pete rock! They welcomed us into their town, and we did not disappoint. We busted through a highly energetic set, which included some songs we rarely get to play these days...such as Eyes Pried Open and Falling Up as well as new favorites Pool Of Fears and Water In my Hands. We had a great time, and can't wait to go back on November 2nd! Also, thanks to James from Crossbreed for coming out and hanging with SOL!

Well, in a VERY positive move, our CD Release party WAS indeed moved to the Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale. The date stays the same, but the lineup is going to be changed a bit. I guarantee Eversinceve and Lo. will still be on the bill, but I will let you know who else within the next few days. Check out our Events section for more information when it is available.

Here are some more bands for you guys to check out that kickass: Atreyu, Blindside, and Avril Lavigne (dudes, she is so hot, and actually talented...move over Britney!!)

Drowning Pool, St. Pete, and more...
Posted On Wednesday, August 14, 2002 by Mike
First off, Scars Of Life would like to send our condolences to Drowning Pool and the family members of DP singer Dave Williams, who was found dead earlier today on their tour bus. While we have only met Dave once when we played a show with Drowning Pool earlier this year, we must say they were cool as shit. Dave and the guys came and hung out with us for awhile in the back, and were just totally cool. I think this is a great loss to the rock world, for Drowning Pool was a kickass band..and kickass guys! Dave will be missed...and remembered.

In lighter news, Scars Of Life makes its first appearance on the west coast of Florida this weekend, as we play the State Theater is St. Petersburg on Saturday, August 17. This show also includes great bands Lo., Unravel, and Meglablatta. If you're in the area, come check out the show. For more information on this show, check out our Events section.

The cd release party might be changed. While the Freez show will still go on as scheduled, we might make the cd release party a different date at the Culture Room in October. More information on this will come within the next few weeks.

If you're itching for something new to check out, aside from the new Scars Of Life songs located HERE, then check out the bands Dredg, Breaking Benjamin, and Seether ...all pretty new kickass bands.

Great...cya!

Augusta, GA left SCARRED at Locobazooka...
Posted On Monday, July 8, 2002 by Mike
What's up people? Today, Scars of Life returns from Augusta, GA, where we have just played part on the Locobazooka tour this past Saturday. The show went AMAZING. We had such a good time. We have no Budget Inn stories like last time though...we were smart and stayed at a Holiday Inn this time (in which we shared the hotel with fellow Loco-band Audiovent). We have a large thanks section this week, so bare with me: We'd like to thank the thousands of people in attendance for welcoming and accepting us into their state (we are glad we got to personally meet so many of you), we'd like to thank Brian from Inside Sessions for everything (we could not have done this without you!!), the entire Locobazooka staff, the 95 Rock staff for all the free food, water, and beer, and JustPromotions.com for all the promo materials we gave away. We'd also like to give a thanks to all of the new friends we made at the show: Jemani, Dry Cell, and Mad At Gravity...as well as our old friends in Nonpoint for hanging out and showing us a good time. We'd also like to give a SPECIAL thanks to all of our friends and fans that drove forever to see us: Michelle, Christie, and Jackie of our Miami Street Team, JP from Inverse-Music.com and his buddy Will, Doug and Ashley, Barry Rodman, and anyone else I may have forgotten, thank you. We'd also like to give a shoutout to our road crew (Abe, John, Linder, and Kat) for all of your help...we appreciate it and had a great time! So all in all, this show was great. We will have pictures and video of this show up on the site sometime this week.

In other SOL news, our Kelsey Club show on August 10 has been cancelled. We apologize to the people who were going to this show, but we are working on getting something else for that date. Keep checking our Events section for more news on that and all other upcoming shows.

This week we will be demoing Silent Words in preparation for the studio, which we hit on July 20th.

Our Miami radio station's local show has a new DJ named Madison. Please CLICK HERE to email Madison to let her know you want Scars Of Life played on the air. Even if you do not live in the Miami area, please help us out and email her anyway :)

Well, I guess that's it for now. Till next time, CYA!

Scars Of Life tore it up...
Posted On Sunday, June 23, 2002 by Mike
We'd like to thank everyone that came out to Freez last night. We went on really late, but everyone stuck it out to see SOL. We'd like to thank all the kickass bands that played, especially our buddies in Local Porn Star for driving hours to come and rock out with us. We'd also like to thank all our friends that came out to support: Endo, EverSINcevE, Morisson Poe, Xeon Switch, Furax, and all the others I may have forgotten, you know who you are!

Well, as for shows...our next show is July 6 in Augusta, GA for the Locobazooka Tour with Sevendust, Filter, Earshot, Nonpoint, Mushroomhead, and a whole lot of others. If you're in the area, or feel like a road trip, we'll see you there! As for FL shows, we have only one officially scheduled in Lake Park on August 10, and one pending in St. Petersburg at The State Theater on August 17. Check out our Events section for more information on all upcoming shows.

As for recording, July 20 is the date we enter the studio. It seems now we MIGHT be doing 5 songs, but we'll keep you informed on that as we get closer to recording.

Well, that's it for now...See Ya!

Posted On Saturday, May 18, 2002 by Mike
Hey guys,

Scars Of Life have officially teamed up with Jason Hager (former guitarist/co-founder of Chimaira) and Jayme Rosenjack and their Groundwork Music Group. The company is designed to promote Scars Of Life and help us get a record deal.

As you know, we are heading into the studio in July with Jeremy Staska (Nonpoint, Poison The Well) to record 4 or 5 new tracks. We are going to use these with the Groundwork Music Group to shop to labels. It is still undecided if these songs will take form as the second official Scars Of Life album, but we'll keep you updated when that time comes.

You can catch Scars Of Life on Memorial Day weekend in the following cities:

1. Saturday, May 25 at Ground Zero in Merritt Island, FL with Local Porn Star, Such Is Life, and more.
2. Sunday, May 26 at Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale, FL with Calm, Simplekill, Deadstar Assembly, and more.

Thanks guys

SOL hits the road...
Posted On Sunday, May 12, 2002 by Jason
First of all, thanks to all of you that joined us at The Surf Cafe this last friday night. Suprisingly the show went very well with our good friends in Eversinceve. It was alot of fun to play a longer than normal set and drink ourselves stupid with all of our friends. Eversinceve put on a great show as always, and it was good to see so many faces show up to an over 21 show.

Next up we get to pack our asses into a van and head up to Merritt Island to play at Ground Zero with Such Is Life, Local Porn Star and more. We dont know what to expect at this show being that we havent travelled much yet, but we are confident it will be good. If you live in central Florida and you havent had a chance to go to an SOL show, now is your chance. Then, to round off memorial day weekend, we get to haul our butts back down the next day to The Culture Room to play a kickass show with Calm (from Tampa), Simplekill, Deadstar Assembly and more. This is not a show any of you should miss. For more details visit our Events Page.

We have made some updates to the website in the past few days. We have added some cool new reviews we just found for your reading pleasure. Also, we have added a logoff feature in the blue box to the left of the page, so when you share a computer with someone, they cant come and post stuff here under your name. And lastly, for those of you who didnt know where our messageboard was because it was labeled "Discussion" to the left, it now says "Messageboard". If you havent posted a subject yet, get your ass over there and speak your mind.

As of May 10th we are officially OUT OF STOCK of our T-Shirts. We have a new batch on order which we should have in a couple of weeks. As soon as we get them, they will be available on the merchandise page.

Thats all for now, keep coming back for updates.

Some news for ya...
Posted On Monday, May 6, 2002 by Mike
Hey guys,

Not much news this week. We'd like to thank everyone that came out to Freez this past weekend to check out SOL. And thanks to David from Xeon Switch for jumping up on stage and joining us during Mute. We had a lot of fun, and we hope you all did too.

So far, the "Tentative" songs that we will be recording are Pool Of Fears, Lost Years, Water In My Hands, and Silent Words. This is subject to change, but as of right now, this is what it is.

We hope to see all of you 21+ people at the Surf Cafe in Boca this Friday. The Surf is the first place Scars Of Life ever played, and we are playing there again to have a good time, going back to our "roots". We will be hitting the stage with our brothers in Eversinceve. Check out our Events section for more details.

Bullet wins war/SOL hits the studio...
Posted On Thursday, May 2, 2002 by Mike
We'd like to thank everyone that voted on our poll for which song to put on the Floridalocalmusic.com compilation CD. The winner, by a longshot, is Bullet With Your Name, which received over 700 more votes than runner up, Mute. We will keep everyone updated on the compilation cd as soon as we get more information.

Once again, their is a show going around that "claims" we are playing, but it is false. We are NOT playing on May 17 at Spanky's in West Palm. We apologize to anyone who thought we were. Remember, if it is not posted on this site, it is NOT TRUE.

Ok...here is part 1 of our "special news" I was talking about last week. Scars Of Life will be hitting the studio once again to record 4 new songs. We have lined up Jeremy Staska and Studio 13 (Poison The Well, Malevolent Creation) to do the project. Jeremy also recorded the Mute cd as well as the Confined cd's. This will be Mike's first actual recording for Scars Of Life, and this will take place starting on July 20. The songs that will be included will be announced at a later date.

More on "special news" part 2 will be posted here by next week.

Thanks...and we hope to see you Friday, May 3 at Freez in Ft. Lauderdale.

Voting with a Bullet...
Posted On Monday, April 22, 2002 by Mike
We are going to be a part of the Floridalocalmusic.com compilation cd. We need your help. We are asking you to all vote for 1 of the 3 songs listed below. Whichever one gets the most votes, is the one we will put on the compilation. The choices are:

Bullet With Your Name
Eyes Pried Open
Mute

You can vote by selecting the song of choice in the voters box on the bottom right of the screen (on the front page of the site). Please check it out and vote for which SOL song you like best of the 3 selected. We appreciate your help deciding which song will be chosen. Please only vote once to keep the totals accurate and true.

Check out our Events section for some updated shows. We are going back to the SOL roots, and playing a show at the Surf Cafe in Boca Raton. So if you are 21 or older, and want to see where Scars Of Life first started playing out, come check out this show.

Our acoustic song, titled "Silent Words" that we performed live on 92.1, is now available in download and stream format in the Media section. So if you haven't checked that out, take your ass over there and give it a listen.

Scars Of Life will have some very cool, important news coming up within the next week, so definately check back often so you can be the first to know.

SOL crushes Culture Room...
Posted On Monday, April 15, 2002 by Mike
Hey everyone,

We'd like to thank you all for coming out to the Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale this past weekend. We had a great time playing to a bunch of new faces. Also, we'd like to apologize for any sound difficulties. Kyle has suffered a severe vocal cord strain, but he still wanted to play for the fans. We appreciate Kyle's dedication in Scars Of Life, and we know he wouldn't have thought twice about playing. Let's all wish Kyle good luck on a quick recovery.

For those of you that missed our on air performance of our only acoustic song, Silent Words, you can click here (right click, save target as) to download it or click here to stream. We will have the whole interview posted shortly.

We are currently booking some more shows for the summer, including a HUGE 10 band festival-type event. More information on that will be available soon.

The staff at Floridalocalmusic.com are putting together a compilation cd to include tons of Florida's best bands. We need your help to decide which song to put on the comp. We will soon be posting a poll so you can all vote on your favorite SOL song you think we should use. The choices will be Bullet With Your Name, Eyes Pried Open, and Mute. Please help us out by voting.

That's it for now, Cya!

Here's some news for ya...
Posted On Tuesday, April 9, 2002 by Mike
We'd like to thank everyone who came out this past Sunday to check out our show with the Groovenics at Ray's Downtown in West Palm. Also, for anyone that went to The Factory last Friday to see Scars Of Life, and realized we were not there, we apologize. Once again, The Factory has fucked up. We never confirmed that show, and they put our name on it anyways. Shit like this has happened in the past. So if you do not see it listed on this site, then it is not true.

Speaking of shows, our Events section has been updated with a few shows, with many more in the works spring/summer. Keep checking back often for more shows.

Well, our reign as Planet Radio's cd of the month has come to an end. We thank everyone once again for voting for us. We'd like to congratulate the new cd of the month artist, our good buddies in Switchmode. We'd also like to remind everyone in the Palm Beach, FL area, that our cd's are still on sale at Purple Haze in Lake Worth.

Joe has made some buddy icons for you AIM users. They will be posted on the site soon. But if you want it now, they are currently being circulated in Scars Of Life email newsletters. If you did not get one, EMAIL JOE and bug the shit out of him :)

That's it for now, see you all this Saturday at the Culture Room. Remember to print out the flyer (or ask one of us for one), and highlight Scars Of Life, to get a discount on entry to the show.

Acoustic Planet
Posted On Saturday, March 23, 2002 by Mike
Hey everyone,

Want something to do on Easter Sunday? How about tuning into Planet Radio 92.1 in West Palm Beach at 8pm to check out our live, on-air interview. We will be in the studio discussing all kinds of shit about our cd, upcoming shows, and the future of Scars Of Life. Also, Kyle and Anthony will be playing an unreleased acoustic track, live in the studio. So be sure to tune in. If you are not in the West Palm Beach area, Planet Radio, 92.1 streams over the internet. click here to listen! So check out their site to listen to the show live on March 31!!

We have an awesome show coming up in April. We are playing a show with a bunch of cool bands we rarely get a chance to play with. These are more rock than metal bands, so it will be cool to introduce our music to a new crowd. The show will feature our buddies in Saline and Releese. It will also feature a band from Orlando called Four Years Past. I checked out a track by these guys, and it is very good. I hear that this band features the brother of Creed's drummer, so that's pretty cool. Check out our Events page for all the information.

That's it for now, cya!

Mullet's Rock!
Posted On Sunday, March 17, 2002 by Mike
Well, we had a great time at Mulletfest this past Saturday. Some great bands played, the crowd looked like they had a great time, so it was just an all around good show. Speaking of mullets, if you haven't yet, head over to our Merchandise section to pick up a copy of the Confined "Silence" CD. Confined was the former band of everyone in Scars Of Life except me, and the pictures of Rodman's mullet in the booklet are worth the $4 alone, plus the music is extreme. These are available here only, so pick them up while they last.

Our show at Liquid has been postponed. The new date, as well as other show dates, will be up shortly.

Scars Of Life are back to the writing process. We have a few new songs we are working on, one which might be played live acoustic on Planet Radio, 92.1 later this month. Keep checking back for more information on this.

We'd also like to give a shoutout to Attica and School For Heroes for driving hours to kick some ass with us at Spanky's in West Palm.

Just a reminder, check out Planet Radio, 92.1 to read all about our cd of the month honors. We will be heading to the Planet Radio studios later this month for an on air interview. We will keep you posted on all the information on that when it is received to us.

Time to make some real noise
Posted On Friday, February 8, 2002 by JASON
Well, our little break is over for now, and we are gearing up for a TON of shows in the next few months. We are going to be "spreading the scars" all over south florida starting this weekend (Feb 9th) up in good old Stuart, FL.

Our new friends in Club Unknown (aka "Gamer's Headquarters") invited us up to stir up some good stuff in north palm beach. We've never played at this club before, so we are hoping you all come by and show your support. We know alot of you just now got your hands on our CD and now recognize some of the other songs we've been playin out for so long. It was quite a treat to see some of you singing along at our more recent shows, it makes us feel good.

On top of this, we FINALLY got a show at our much beloved Culture Room in Fort Lauderdale. We have been trying to get in there for many, many months now to no avail. Its kinda short notice, but we need to make an impression. So, please come on by to this all ages show on Feb 16th and show em what were all about.

As if that was not enough... Ovation Nightclub (formerly Orbit Nightclub) has took note of the success of our CD release party and have put together a MAMMOTH of a show.. Im not even gonna try to list all the bands, but there are more than TWENTY of them. whew... For more on all of these upcoming shows, please read all about them on the events page. Thats all for now, peace.

Garageband is starting to pick up
Posted On Wednesday, November 21, 2001 by JASON
We have got a lot of feedback about our music from Garageband.com and have risen pretty high on their charts. The last time I looked, Mute was #102 in metal, and Watch me Drown was #157. Not too shabby! I wanted to share with you a recent review we got on their since it was so good:

Tight band. With the current trend of most bands having the same generic sound and style, it's good to at least see a band do it WELL. While the music is not the most original, those who share the same influences as the band will definately appreciate thier sound - Tight grooves, Strong drumming, melodic vocals peppered with screams (singing reminds me a bit of Mike Patton), and distorted guitars with tastefull use ofharmonics.

Soon we are going to create a new section where you can post your reviews here on our website. Keep your eyes peeled for this new section.

Lotsa stuff going on
Posted On Wednesday, November 21, 2001 by JASON
With the new CD coming out on November 27, we have been swamped trying to keep up with all that is happening. Our street teams are growing by leaps and bounds, and our fanclub is really kicking too. We now have a street team in virtually every state in the U.S., and even quite a few in Europe and Canada. If all goes well, with their help, we can get the word out and our CD into the hands of alot of people.

Last weekend we played at a warehouse party with good friends Comus, and our old bass player's new band EverSINcevE. Let me tell you, I was impressed with both of these bands, and by the great turnout that night. Its good to see so many great new bands coming out to help build up the local scene again. I like where things are going, and we are glad that you are there with us along the way. Keep on doing what you do, its sure is helping.

Have a happy thanksgiving

Hey guys,

Well...we have decided to give the Factory in Ft. Lauderdale one more chance to prove to SOL that they know how to put on a show. We have played there many times before and left unsatisfied. This time, the Factory has given us an all local show, which means no shitty cover bands, just all great local talent. This should mean we will have a sound check...and we will sound our BEST for all the 'Lifers' who attend our shows. Tickets are now available for this event at select stores, shows, and directly from any member of SOL. So grab a ticket that has *Scars of Life highlighted...and we'll see you there. For more information, please visit our Events page.

*NOTE* The Factory has already fucked up...tickets say 'Scars of LIE'...instead of Scars Of Life...but you know who we are.

I know im close to a week late posting this, but we wanted to thank everyone for comming out to the Surf Cafe and helping make the show a great success. Much thanks to Fo/bik, Wallop, and Zigjaw for pounding out great sets as well. This was the firsttime we played our new song called "Falling Up". Made me happy to see them again.

Until next time...

UPDATE!!
Posted On Thursday, September 13, 2001 by KYLE
I'd like to start off by saying that we are very pleased to see that so many people are signing up on the street team. Its not 100% ready to begin.. but Jason is working hard on it and we should be ready to launch it in the near future. So keep signing up, your names are being stored in our database. Also new photos and images will be added to the website in the near future as well.

Our EP "Mute" has been delayed a bit and should be ready to be released in October.

We have been writing some kick ass new material and we'll continue to do so. We just finished up a new song last night and Joe has already been belting out some new stuff for the next. The response we have been hearing about our new songs have been nothing but positive.

Thank you again for helping Scars Of Life grow with all your input, e-mails, comming to shows, and supporting the band as a whole.. we are nothing without all of you.

Huge Metal Show/Techno Rave planned for West Palm!
Posted On Saturday, September 8, 2001 by JASON
This has got to be a first of its kind show. The Orbit in West Palm Beach has whipped up a show of monstrous proportions with a twist. On Friday, October 12th, "MORPHEUS" (as the show is being called) starts off with local hard rock/metal acts on two stages like All is Well, Pank Shovel, and the Groovenics just to mention a few. After midnight, the show shifts into rave mode with a slew of guest DJs and techno/dance act Hybrid. Its not your normal runof the mill local show, which should make this a really cool show. On top of that, ITS ALL AGES!!! Tickets are $10 through ticketmaster, or $12 at the door before 11pm, and $15 after 11pm. More Info...

Zigjaw and S.O.L. tear up Spanky's
Posted On Monday, September 3, 2001 by JASON
If you were anywhere else in West Palm Beach other than Spanky's on August 31, you missed a hell of a show. Even though the show got a little messed up by the mayor (who denied the permit for the outside stage) the show still went on without a hitchindoors. SOL opened up the show right at 8pm, and pounded out a half an hour of blistering metal. The sound was not too bad, but was a bit much for the small room. Stillkept then takes the stage (if you can call it that) and whips the pit into shapewith their hardcore, kik-the-shit-outtaya set. Zigjaw went on just before eleven and put out a crowd-pleasing set of ZJ favorites. All in all, we were all impressed with the WPB crowd, and we are definately gonna do this again. See you all again on Oct. 12th with the Groovenics at Orbit.

Cover for upcoming CD finally released

After months and months of delays and various other setbacks in the project, we are finally gaining some momentum. The layout for the CD is nearing completion, with full production only a week or two away. It is still undecided when the actual release date will be for the CD, but its looking more and more like early October. Keep checking back in the next couple of weeks for updates on the project.
